Adobe Flash Web Applications – Making a Cult of Its Own in the Web Development World

From mere 2D animated intros with flying objects to powering complete desktop applications, Flash has evolved big time. It is taking the world over by becoming an authoritative and comprehensive web development platform. Boosted with Actionscript 3.0 programming, Flash is fast changing the face of web with rich internet applications that promise greater attractive appeal and interactivity.

From Futurewave to Macromedia and now Adobe, Flash has had three owners in its 13 years of existence. Over the years, each latest version of Flash has brought additional new features, animation tools, programming interfaces and ready-to-use components that help designers come up with extravagant internet applications.

Internet-based Web Applications:
The earliest use of Flash was to develop simple animation tools with a plug-in that was compatible with prevailing browsers like IE and Netscape. A timeline was used to control the entry & exit, movement and rotation of vector graphics placed on a single layer, which were later compiled to form a simple movie clip. Windows 7:

UI (User Interface) Enhancements:

1) A redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar
2) A new control panel interface
3) Windows Explorer now includes a slideshow feature that changes the desktop background in a designated amount of time
4)Start menu and window management enhancements
5)The user interface for font management has been overhauled

System Requirements:

1) Faster boot speed
2) The DirectX version has been updated to 1
3) Multi-touch support for Tablet PCs and other capable devices
4) Native WWAN support, similar to native WiFi added in Vista
5) Enhanced security features

Ubuntu 9.10:

UI (User Interface) Enhancements:

1) Overall theme refresh
2) Using the most up-to-date GNOME version
3) A redesigned login manager

System Enhancements:

1) Faster boot speed
2) Ext4 will be the default file system
3) Ubuntu One client will be installed by default

Additional Features

1) Empathy Instant Messenger will replace Pidgin
2) Will utilize GRUB 2 as its default boot loader

Our IT Comments:

1) Windows and Mac OS X is trying to be like Linux right now –fast and resource efficient. On the other hand, Linux on the desktop is still polishing its user-interface perhaps to be like Windows or Mac OS X.

2) We found the best O/s capabilities in Linux 9.0, If someone / organization migrates from one version to another version of windows o/s its worthless, better to move with growing technology providing by Linux 9.0 O/s.

At first glance, we can see very clearly that Ubuntu installs far faster than either version of Windows. And, while that’s true there is one important mitigation: both Windows Vista and Windows 7 run system benchmarks part-way through the installation to determine the computer’s capabilities.
